Detour of the Bay area and the mighty Pacific Ocean in California

On 29th March, 2015, we enjoyed a great detour of the Bay area and the mighty Pacific ocean, via State Highway 1. Ashu, my son, was driving and we were the co-passengers enjoying the ride.We began the journey through freeway No. 280. During about 40 KMs drive on this road, we had a panoramic view of beautiful lakes, small hillocks, houses hanging from them, elevations, meadows, green forests etc. We also saw a lot of famous wineries, Strawberry farms, big grasslands and animal farms.

A westwards turn on Highway 92 took us to the world famous Highway 1, which passes just along the western edge of USA. From Half Moon Bay to Santa Cruz, almost 80 Kms, the road passes along the shores of the Pacific ocean mostly at a handshake distance. Entire pathway is tourist spot, with dozens of developed beaches, scores of raw tourist spots, tens of state parks, lush green vegetation on the left side, great eateries, beautiful cars, pet dogs, tourists in various kinds of clothes or, a few, almost without that.

The entire stretch is exotic, soothing to the eyes, lush green surroundings(even the ocean water) and out of the world. We turned left from the picturesque city of Santa Cruz and said bye bye to the highway1. This small city was a surprise as we saw hundreds of elegant houses, villas, cars, flower plants and trees in the small city but not a single person anywhere. Probably , entire city was on the weekend. Rest, next time....
